Learning Support

In Primary School, the Student Support Department is made up of a specialized team that provides support to students from preschool to fifth grade.

In ECE, the follow-up is carried out by a psycho-pedagogist, and in the PYP levels, the team includes psycho-pedagogists and a psychologist. The goal of the intervention is to offer comprehensive support from the early years in ECE, addressing academic, emotional, and social development.

Some of its main functions include the early detection of needs and areas for intervention, the design and implementation of strategies to support students and enhance their skills, as well as promoting emotional well-being and holistic development in their interactions with peers.

The intervention is carried out through observations, evaluations, and group or individual interventions. In collaboration with teachers and parents, the department contributes to the academic and personal success of students, ensuring that each child receives the necessary support to reach their full potential.

In Secondary School, the Learning Support Department is responsible for ensuring the socio-emotional well-being and addressing the academic needs of students. We have a psychologist for grades 6 through 8, a psycho-pedagogist for grades 6 through 10, and another psychologist for grades 9 through 12, who is also responsible for vocational guidance and supporting students with university applications.

Considering the changes students go through during adolescence, we promote their independence and self-management. Students learn to understand their own needs and identify the support they require from the teaching staff and the Support team. In response to emerging needs, we have an 'open-door' policy, where any student has the opportunity to seek out the psycho-pedagogist or psychologists whenever needed.

Additionally, the Support staff conducts classroom observations to gain a deeper understanding of the effectiveness of learning strategies, as well as the social dynamics within each group. When group needs are identified, informative workshops and integration activities are carried out to foster a positive learning environment.
