Our Early Learning Center (ELC) program begins as early as 6 months of age with our nurturing Tiny Paws level, designed for babies from 6 months to 2 years. It then continues with Curious Cubs for learners aged 2–3, followed by Pathfinders for children 3–4 years old. As students grow, they advance to Explorers for ages 4–5, and finally complete their early learning journey as Trailblazers, our oldest group of 5–6 year olds. Each stage is thoughtfully designed to support development, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
The program emphasizes an inquiry and play-based approach to learning and exploring our world. Each student has a unique learning and developmental journey. Our classrooms and curriculum are designed to connect with the natural world, provide flexible and engaging opportunities to captivate the children, and give students agency over their learning and growth. Student academic, social, and emotional development is documented in a digital portfolio, with students and teachers collaboratively selecting videos, photos, anecdotes, writing samples, and reflections that showcase the child’s learning.
The maximum number of students per class is 20. Our mission is to provide learning experiences and opportunities that are constructive and consistent in promoting confidence and the ability to form meaningful social connections. Skills in pre-reading, pre-writing, and early mathematics are emphasized through play. We promote enjoyable and purposeful learning that builds a strong foundation for intellectual, physical, and social-emotional development.
Our developmentally appropriate curriculum is based on IB standards as part of the PYP, and we intentionally focus on developing the IB learner profile attributes through concrete examples drawn from students’ daily lives.
English immersion is delivered through both individual and group work, with hands-on activities that make use of concrete materials. All of our efforts are geared toward helping students learn while having fun.
In addition to instruction in basic skills, students receive weekly classes in Physical Education, Music, Library, and Visual Arts.
