Dear PAS Community:

Please enjoy the October newsletter!

My very best to you,

General Director

Secondary Service Learning

During the month of September, our 11th grade students have been involved in different service opportunities. Following the CAS program’s guidelines, they have supported Fundación Abrazos para el Alma with a Children’s Day party and collaborated with the Carrera Lucha contra el Cáncer, which took place last Sunday in Poás de Alajuela.

Primary Service Learning

Fifth grade students are starting their service learning this month. We are doing different activities to earn money; this money will be used to make donations to the Quitirrisi indigenous community and other organizations. Some activities we are doing to raise funds are: walking dogs, selling sweets, washing cars, and more. Also, some of us are working in teams to collect the money needed, and parents support us.

Students will continue to work throughout the year, and all the money collected will be given to the teachers at the end of each month.  That way we will have the money to buy the materials or supplies needed for the Service Learning activity. We will try our best to collect as much money as we can so that we can also help other places.
